Here's a different take on the usual blog post, a quick-fire listicle. Whether you're feeling stuck in a rut or simply need a quick pick-me-up, here are some quick ways to feel better & boost your productivity, enjoy!! 😉

Start Your Day with a Positive Ritual

A book on a bed with a coffee next to it

Serious

- Begin with a morning stretch or yoga session (there are a lot of 10-15minute "follow as you go" videos on YouTube for beginners that I highly recommend - check out my previous blog post The Power of a Morning Routine: Boost Your Mental Health and Productivity!)

Light-Hearted

- Start your day by striking a superhero pose & declaring your kitchen a 'no negativity zone' as you sip your coffee.

Move Your Body

Serious

  • Schedule a regular walk, jog or gym session

Light-Hearted

  • Chase your pet around the house – it's a win-win for a workout & entertainment.

Listen to Music

Serious

- Music has the power to evoke emotions, reduce stress, & even improve cognitive performance. Whether it's classical or pop, let the rhythm move you.

Light-Hearted

- Blasting the "Imperial March" from Star Wars as you enter the office on a Monday sets the tone for the week: epic & slightly evil.

Fun fact: I actually walked down the isle to this song (no I'm not joking) 😂

Express Gratitude

The word thankful written on a table

Serious

- Keep a gratitude journal & reflect on the positive things from your day; start with 2-5 things & increase from there.

Light-Hearted

- Thank your coffee machine for it's dedicated service; it really deserves it.

Stay Hydrated & Eat Well

Serious

- Plan your meals with a balance of protein & veggies to fuel your day.

Light-Hearted

- Treat water like your phone – keep it close & recharge often.

Declutter Your Space

Serious

- Spend 10-15mins each week to organise your workspace, you'd be surprised how much of a difference a good declutter can make.

Light-Hearted

- Play 'the floor is lava' with your clutter – if it's on the floor, it has to go!

Take Short Breaks

Serious

- Step outside for fresh air or do a quick stretch routine. Sunlight is essential for vitamin D, which is crucial for bone health & immune function.

Light-Hearted

- Do a 'chair spin' every hour – it's a break & a quick fun ride.

Drink a Cup of Tea or Coffee

Serious

- A warm cup of tea or coffee can be soothing & provide a moment of contemplation. It's also a great way to kick-start your metabolism & get antioxidants.

Light-Hearted

- A cup of coffee in the morning helps you do stupid things faster & with more energy!

Do Nothing

Serious

- Take a deep inhale & at the top of the inhale take a small extra breath in. Follow this up by a long exhale - do this three times. Breathing like this can help regulate your emotions & calm your nervous system.

Light-Hearted

- Staring at a wall with the intensity of a superhero trying to activate their laser vision - it might just be the break your brain needs.

Reflect

Serious

  • Write down three ways that your current bad situation could be worse (to help you gain perspective on the circumstance; things can always be worse).

Light-Hearted

  • Look at yourself in the mirror, at your reflection, until you get an epiphany.

Summary

Remember, when trying to boost your mood & productivity, it's all about balance & finding what works for you. So, whether you're sipping tea like a Zen master or mastering a new ritual, keep it light-hearted & beneficial.

Don't forget to enjoy the little things!

If you're feeling overwhelmed or unproductive, remember that a few small changes to your routine can make a big difference in how you feel & perform. Try incorporating these quick tips into your day & notice the positive impact they can have on your well-being & productivity.
